NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE IN ANDALUSIA AND EXTREMADURA
PROGRAM
DAY 1: Arrival at Madrid or Malaga airport and transfer to Córdoba, a welcome cocktail and accommodation in the city centre. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2: We will spend this day discovering the secrets and charms of the Jewish Quarter, with its labyrinth of narrow streets. We plan to visit the imposing mosque and have lunch close by. In the afternoon we will travel to the outskirts of Córdoba to visit Medina Azahara, one of the most spectacular palatial residences in the whole of Europe. Return to Córdoba. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 3: We leave Córdoba and travel through inland Andalusia, discovering the charm of its villages. En route we will stop at both Écija and Carmona, offering a first-hand opportunity to see how life is in these small villages. After lunch we arrive in majestic Seville. Once at the hotel we will walk around the Santa Cruz district, visiting the cathedral – the biggest in Spain – and stroll around the water features of the Reales Alcázares. After a free afternoon we move onto the Triana district where we will enjoy a dinner with views of the Guadalquivir River.

DAY 4: In the outskirts of Écija we will visit the Roman ruins of Itálica before embarking on a didactic excursion to the Roman city of Mérida, in Extremadura. Here we visit the Roman Museum, the Aqueduct and the Roman Theatre, among many other relics from the Roman age. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to feel like real pilgrims as we cover a small route over the famous Via de la Plata, which continues towards northern Spain from Seville via Mérida. Return to Seville and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 5: We leave Seville and travel south towards the sea, first stopping off at Jerez de la Frontera, known around the world for its sherry and brandy and for its dancing horses, which we will have the chance to see. After leaving the city we arrive in Cádiz, known as “La Tacita de Plata”, with a curious Atlantic and Mediterranean blend. We will enjoy a guided tour through the back streets, squares and religious temples (such as San Felipe de Neri or the Cathedral). Free time before dinner, which will be at a lively restaurant in the old town.

DAY 6: Today we submerge ourselves in the Grazalema mountain range, the authentic green lung of the south and home to many species. The secrets of the mountain range will be unveiled to us as we travel into its depths as privileged admirers of the surrounding scenery. Our route takes us through some of the whitewashed villages like Arcos de la Frontera. Before going back to Cádiz we will visit the sea, where we can even have a quick dip. Own meal arrangements in the city.

DAY 7: The whole day is free to take a closer look at the city, enjoy a stroll, visit the beach or even take a boat trip to nearby Puerto de Santa María, with many excellent restaurants. Special farewell meal in the evening at a local restaurant.

DAY 8: After breakfast, transfer to Malaga, Jerez or Seville airport where our services finalise.
